Doing my second shoot I originally looked at the facades of buildings but have found that they are not successful as they do not read as a space. This is due to the angled lines and the repetition of them. The fact that the phtographs also shows one single plane, not 2, therefore it does not read as a floor or wall. I therefore returned to the same site I was at originally, the stairs in front of the memorial on Buckle Street. Using aperture projection I took photographs at a range of angles. The photographs above show some of the more successful ones, but they are not successful reading as spaces, atleast not as successfully as this photo from the previous shoot of the space:
I have come to the conclusion that the best way to achieve what I am trying to achieve successfully is to take more formal photos at 90 degree/perpendicular angles so that the spaces read as a floor or wall scenario. Also there needs to be more then one plane, therefore the space that I am photographing needs to be enclosed on more then one side, avoiding things which give the space away such as sky.
The last photo which I put up from the second shoot is the closest to the image above but still not as successful, this could possibly be due to the difference made from portrait and landscape photographs, this is another thing I could experiment with.
